Arthur Querios aka “Coyote” started surfing and shaping at the age of 14
in Rio de Janeiro. His dedication for
surfing both in and out of the water,
led him into a 16 year span of shaping
boards for Brazilian companies K&K and
Rico Surfboards.
In 1985 Coyote left the beaches of
South America and relocated to Venice
California where he began to shape
boards and surf in the Pacific. It was
not long after his arrival that he began
work at Con Surfboards. After more
than 2 years at Con, Coyote moved to
Natural Progression where he labored
and honed his skills yet again for the
next 7 years. As a Venice resident he
surfed,shaped, sanded and worked
with countless Venice locals such as
Skip Engbloom, Ray Flores, Jay
Adams,the McClure brothers, Nathan
Pratt and Christain Hasoi.
In 1994 with more than 20 years
experience and literally 100’s of boards
under his belt Arthur opened Coyote
Surfboards in Venice.
Presently Coyote is the in House Shaper at Board Gallery where his boards are featured. He works with Russell in Newport Beach, where Coyote Surfboards are shaped.
Coyote is a Jiujitsu brown belt under his long time surfer/bro Rickson Gracie. During the winter Coyote lives and manages the Board Gallery Team Hostile in the North Shore.
